It's a bit out of the ordinary and certainly not my professional training, but I own and operate a skincare franchise in Kirkland, WA for Heyday. During the transition after selling my startup LegUp in 2022, I started exploring franchise opportunities. I was looking for some diversification and something that while not needing full-time focus, was more than a passive investment. A franchise helped me get up and running faster with operational support, and I love having a brick-and-mortar presence in the downtown Kirkland community.
